Commercial Fire Alarm System Installation Services UK Wide

For many businesses, fire alarm systems aren’t an optional extra – they are an essential legal requirement.

Protecting life with appropriate fire safety measures remains one of the most important health and safety requirements for commercial premises. Whether it’s a multi-storey premise throughout the UK or a recreational venue anywhere in the UK, employees, visitors and members of the public all need to be protected from the risk of fire with appropriately designed alarms and ancillary systems.

Fire alarm system design

Integrated fire and safety systems

iC2 designs fire alarm systems by using the outputs from a full fire risk assessment. A fire alarm installation may be deployed in conjunction with sprinklers or other types of fire suppression systems.

Integrating CCTV with a fire alarm installation enables visual verification of a fire and prevents Fire and Rescue response to false alarms, which may attract revenue recovery charges from the emergency services. Besides the primary objective of saving lives, a good fire alarm and suppression system may lead to reductions in your insurance premiums as well as minimising damage in the event of a fire.

FAQs

Fire alarms legislation

Current legislation demands that all business premises must have fire detection and fire warning system, which includes fire alarms, emergency lighting and fire doors. Failure to adhere to these laws can lead to penalties of £5,000 for minor infringements and up to 2 years’ imprisonment for a more serious breach.

All fire alarm systems must be installed by professionals, tested, and maintained on a regular basis. Someone in the workplace – termed ‘a responsible person’ – should be nominated for overseeing fire safety.

Fire alarm system types

Our fire alarm systems are managed from a control panel and the floor area is divided into zones. This helps pinpoint the location of any fire outbreak. Systems may tell you whether or not the fire alarm activation has been genuinely caused by an ignition source, or whether it is an error and the system needs maintenance.

As well as sounding a local alarm, fire alarm systems may also be equipped with remote signalling capability which alerts our remote monitoring station which provides verification of the alarm activation. This enables us to make a qualified request for your Fire and Rescue services to attend the premises or site, where ever you are located in the UK.

If it is difficult to place cabling into your building, a wireless fire alarm system can be installed, which can also be connected to sprinkler systems and smoke alarms.

Fire Safety Management Systems

iC2 Fire Safety Management solutions enable businesses and organisations to take control of the obligations that fall out of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The reform aligns fire safety legislation with the need of modern businesses, seeking to ensure a thorough approach to fire safety without making it a burden on business.

Intruder Alarms

iC2 intruder alarms protect sites and buildings from intruders and unwanted visitors. Intruder alarms typically have sensors at entry points to buildings such as doors and windows. Sensors can also detect motion and be placed under foot to detect people walking through or standing in areas that need to be protected.
